DISABILITIES ACT vs J.L. M.D. Telethon     TO TOP

Collecting or raising money out of objects of pity vs. bringing out the merits of the disabled.

Gratefulness of the victims vs. purity of the help, ie. w/o the telethon they would not be helped

Philanthropy vs. government help

Show business approach

Not all the money is going for help Show biz is making more than their effort The enormous money that is made makes it seem that all is taken care of and noone continues to care beyond this.

When agreeing to some points in a deal and then backing out saying but you cannot be trusted (changing the rules in the middle) = elusiveness.

DON'TS AND DO'S FOR SURVIVAL     TO TOP

NO BLAMING, NO EXCUSES, NO T.V. WATCHING, NO COMPLAINING, NO ARROGANCE, ASK WHY NOT WHAT, CONSIDER FEELINGS OF OTHERS, ACCEPT FAILURES AS DESTINY, NO PAYING NO COMMANDING, NO PATIENCE WITHOUT EFFORT, NO LOUD DISCUSSIONS, WAIT BEFORE RESPONDING (7) SECONDS.

1. DO NOT BLAME, BUT ACCEPT OR AVOID.

2. DO NOT MAKE EXCUSES, BUT RATHER DO NOT REPEAT IT.

3. DO NOT LOOK AT A T.V. BROADCAST, RATHER LISTEN TO IT.

4. DO NOT COMPLAIN, BUT IMPROVE OR CORRECT.

5. DO NOT BE ARROGANT, BUT EQUANIMEOUS.

6. DO NOT RESPOND TO TONE (HOW) NOR CONTENT (WHAT) TO A VERBAL RETORT ONLY TO THE MEANING (WHY). IE. "YOU PEOPLE", OFFENSIVENESS, INFERIORITY PUT DOWNS. INSULTING, SENSITIVITY.

7. CONSIDER OTHERS AS REGARDS THEIR OWN FEELINGS OF THEMSELVES.

8. WHEN POWERLESS TO HELP OR CHANGE ASSUME IT IS DESTINY.

9. UNLESS YOU PAY ANOTHER A SUM OF MONEY AT HIS OWN REQUEST DO NOT COMMAND HIM OR OFFER UNSOLICITED ADVICE..

10. PATIENCE IS NOT APATHY AND MUST BE USED WISELY, ONLY WHEN NO OTHER AVENUE IS AVAILABLE; ANNOYANCE IS NO SUBSTITUTE.

11. ARGUING IS A LOUD DISCUSSION, KEEP IT QUIET.

12. WAIT (7) SECONDS BEFORE ANSWERING SOMEONE.

ARGUMENTS  AGAINST  HEALTH  CARE REFORM     TO TOP

$800 billion industry of 10 million people.

Medicare creator Joseph Califano Jr. admits that government control of Medicare encouraged doctors to create and prodigiously administer new procedures to overcome lower fees due to price control. It and will go broke by 1999.

The same bureaucrats are to control the new health care system ?

Opponents, say this would ration health care and does not address long-term care, argue that to give a larger tax deduction and/or tax credit to poorer people would accomplish the same thing only with a control of other government spending by cutting less important programs. It will guarantee renew ability of insurance of high risk patients of long term illnesses.

This would further encourage say creating, like an IRA, a medical savings account through tax deductions. This will cover minor medical expenses as well as catastrophic insurance.

It does not address the malpractice lawsuits against responsible physicians, whereas government can by reforming laws commensurate with health care.

In Canada, a social health care system country, the health care line is 250,000 people long. Wealthy people go to N.Y. Dogs can get a CAT scan without waiting.

In America people cherish their health above all (me hut moire) and will not easily relinquish thei own decision making capacity.

A detriment or drawback is centralized computer access to medical records and can lead to invasion of privacy.

Suspect that America is becoming like China where a cab driver makes as much as a doctor.

With government fiat or control 1/2 the doctors will retire early and thereby only 1/2 the doctors will be available to treat double the patients.

DETRIMENTAL AFFECTS OF HEALTH CARE REFORM

MAIN HEALTH CARE FEATURES     TO TOP

1. SECURITY CARD

2. SIMPLICITY - Forms, government role

3. SAVINGS

4. CHOICE - Doctor, patient

5. QUALITY

6. RESPONSIBILITY - Abuse of the system Linked to population growth, proportional to size. 20% of budget goes for health care, $200 billion.

SOCIAL EDUCATION - A CLINIC OF HUMAN VALUES    TO TOP

"WHAT IS WORSE THAN BAD MEN DOING EVIL IS GOOD MEN DOING NOTHING". David Burke

This concept involves the organizing of a teaching committee, training committee and social specialists who will administer and enforce a system of caring and keeping track of families and individuals in an active and aggressive manner to determine the well being of same.

The work would involve training a team of personnel in proper family values, family standards in terms of duties, possessions, attitudes and relationships.

The worker would be assigned ten (10) families to be alert about and coach, council and direct as the case may be to necessary facilities, such as medical, psychological and Rabbinical auspices and follow through until matters are resolved. All subordinate facilities will be trained accordingly and overseen by a supervisor responsible for ten (10) such workers.

When a committee agrees upon the details of this plan it is to be in peace in a "time is of the essence" manner.

 PESSIMISM, RELATIONSHIPS, ATTITUDES, CARING.
